KING KONG HITS THE ROAD!

Loading up the gear.

June 2 Columbus, OH

Columbus was the last night of  our tour. We had a ball none the less.

Paul and Amber came up from Louisville. Paul was the one who recorded Buncha Beans.

Some Ohians.

Tour is over.

June 1 DeKalb, IL

DeKalb, IL is  small town America in the Norman Rockwell tradition;

Mohican poodles,

Jan, her sister Jen,

and Mat.

May 31 St. Paul, MN

We went to a Napalese restuaraunt and Willy ate the yak

and I drank the Cariabou.

May 30 Iowa City, IA

A nice little American town with excellent coffee. Nobody came to  our show

except Jumbo Special.

May 29 St. Louis, MO

We played at this theme restaurant  / rock and roll club place called the Duck Doom,  but it was much cooler than Hard Rock Cafe. We
were there after all.

Here are some of our new friends.

May 28 Columbia, MO

Memorial Day is good for relaxing. Shirelle put me at ease with songs about drinking and adultery.  She played along with club beats.

They told some hard to believe stories about the police and speedy car chases.

The next day we went to see Chris. He modified our tube amps. Now we finally have a great sound. I wish there was to a way to download his brain.

May 27 Kansas City, MO

After a 600 mile drive from Denver we were a little burned so we cooled off with Young Galaxy from Montreal.

An artist and his muse.

They took us out to a bar after the show.

May 26 Denver, CO

Willy got on the roof to hunt frizzbees.

Met some guys. It sounded like huge crowd but when the lights came there were only nine. It was too much fun.

May 25
Provo, Utah

We played at a cute little place in Provo called Starry Night.  That is Kelly and her Lilly.  Lilly hid during our set.

It was a brilliant evening for Willy to unload the van,

for Mike to  play with the dolphins,

for Pete  to sample the fish,  and for me to take silly photos.

May 24 Missoula, MT

We performed in a pool hall called The Palace.

Amanda and  Kale showed us what Missoula was all about.

May 23 Seattle, WA

Seattle is an impressive town.

Holly gave us carrots and sesame sticks at The Sunset.

Peter burned CDs.

Mike and I got ourselves  into  "the zone"

while the opening act was on stage.  Seattle treated us to a fun night. Everybody danced. Dancing is what gets our groove mojo into motion. What else is there in life worth living for?

May 22 Portland, OR

Peter and Willy goofed off in downtown Portland. We had a great show and we had a super audience. Portland is like that futuristic city on the forest planet in Star Wars.

May 20 and 21   Drive Days

One great thing about touring in the West is having the opportunity to take in the scenery. We decided to sample some Pinot Noir and carouse around wine country before Mike's wedding next week.

May 19 San Francisco, CA

Before jamming at the Hemlock, we spent some time at the beach.

Hemlock's sound man on the left likes to annoy his roomates by listening to Old Man on the Bridge.

May, 18 Oakland, CA

We found our selves in this sort of art community / club / home place.

First the comedian,

then these guys,

and then these guys, then us, and then we were like "later".

May 17, Los Angeles, CA

Space Land.

The Autumns.

Weird L.A.

Heather from Louisville was our awsome host.

May, 16 2007 Sandiego, CA

I love California!

During our grand finale song, Old Man on the Bridge,

This fellow spun himself around until he literally collapsed on the floor. California baby!

May 15, 2007  Drive Day

We did the long drive through Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and finally California.

May 14, 2007 Austin, TX

It was hot in Austin so we took a dip before sound check.

Willy came  up for air.

A band on our bill at Emo's

May 13, 2007 Houston, TX

Mike got mad

at a kung fu acadamy.

May 12, 2007 Jackson, MI

We rolled accross Alabama.

Jackson was like a David Lynch movie. We performed at the Dog House. We also ate hot dogs for dinner.

Everything was so freaky that night that I didn't have a chance to take many photos. This dude did tell us we should get on the jam band circuit.

Next morning we got gassed up.

And we got back on the road.

May 11, 2007 Atlanta, GA

We arrived in the middle of an afternoon thunderstorm. It's starting to smell like summer.

Matt and Kim played after us at the Drunken Unicorn.

Then it was British rap diva, Lady Soveriegn.

Her fart jokes were so amusing,

that she had this guy rolling on the floor.

May 10, 2007 Nashville, TN

So begins the second leg of our 2007 American tour in Nashville.

This is our third fouth gig with Tim Chad and Sherry since October. We just performed together in Louisville on Derby eve. Their music  is kind of funky like  King Kong so it's alsways a great night when we are on a bill together.

When Tim Chad and Sherry's drummer, Brian Kotzur, wasn't behind his kit,

he was behind the piano.

When he wasn't behind the piano,

he was down on the floor.
